    Jane Bearden is a well-traveled violinist “…with a brilliant silvery sound…” (Jim Lowe, Times Argus). She moved to Vermont from Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, where she performed as a first violinist of the Malaysian Philharmonic Orchestra for four years, touring in Australia, Taiwan, China, and Singapore and recording for the BIS label. She has performed under the direction of conductors Lorin Maazel, Claus Peter Flor, Rafael Frühbeck de Burgos, and Sir Neville Marriner, Eiji Oue, Charles Dutoit and Pierre Boulez. She completed her bachelor’s and master’s degrees in violin performance under Sheryl Staples at the Manhattan School of Music and then joined New World Symphony under Michael Tilson Thomas. Other orchestras she has played with include the Philharmonia of the Nations, Sarasota Orchestra, and Macau Orchestra. As soloist, she has performed with the Malaysian Philharmonic Chamber Players, Rochester Philharmonic Orchestra, National Repertory Orchestra, Lake Superior Chamber Orchestra and Burlington Ensemble. After returning to the United States from Malaysia, Jane took courses in math and science at the University of Vermont, rediscovering her passion for neuroscience and its relation to playing and teaching. Jane spends most of her time teaching and performing in new projects like 802 Quartet and ME2 with Ronald Braunstein.…
